How can you save money for something expensive?

I am striving to save money for a new laptop. But the thing is, I am underage and i don't know what I can do to save up money.|||Its simple, just make a budget and try to get some handyman jobs like washing cars or mowing the lawn for neighbors or family members. Do you have a laptop in mind? You have to check out the price and work out how long its going to take you to buy it. You are going to have to be patient, it might take you about six months to save up enough money to buy it, but when you finally do its going to be so much more exciting because you worked hard for it and earned it yourself.|||Well, i am also underage and i am saving for a trip to Sydney. What i am doing to earn money is i have a job and i do work for my mum to earn a little extra cash. so to help save i have a debit card and all my work money goes into it, and i am about to set up another account and transfer the money i want to save into that account (that account i am not aloud to touch but the other account i can use for shopping etc.) if you do this you can still spend money and have some saved.

xx Maggie|||the BEST way to save money for anything is NOT 2 spend yer earnings. u can have yer folks open u a new savings acct %26amp; u can earn $$$ thru odd jobs %26amp; allowance (IF u get 1.) not all families can do this, b/c x-tra $$$ nowadays is so rare that many families just don't make enough $$$ 2 support allowance. in fact, most ppl now r saving ALL they can 4 their own futures, knowing that down the road, they themselves will someday NEED their savings. if my family struggled $$$, i just wouldn't put any such burden on them 2 give me $$$ they just don't have. i'd go seek odd jobs %26amp; do all i can 2 earn my own living if i needed $$$ that bad.


u may want 2 save yer $$$ anyway, b/c u may someday want 2 attend college. if u face certainty that some $$$ must come out of yer own pocket, then u'll appreci8 the fact that u saved earlier. college is expensive, %26amp; so r the books, once u factor in the car, ins., %26amp; gas needed 2 go 2-from class (IF u mush go very far). if u can get fin. aid, then let the govt buy that laptop 4 u. if u can't get enough aid now, u can save yer refunds off that grant. refunds come during refund wk.


i'd just wait 4 the laptop. technology changes %26amp; the longer u wait, the BETTER those laptops get.|||a piggy bank, or a jar or something, and just put in a little every day or whenever you get some money. Or you could even have your parents open you a savings account|||piggy bank!!! just kidding you can have your parents set up a debit card and just put money in it and not use it, or a saving account. talk to your parents about it.. hope i helped!|||you have to have money first - allowance, job, etc - then you just don;t spend it on anything else - problem solved|||If you get an allowance, start stashing it.
