What are some of the ways you save money?|||I have a checking and savings account at Wachovia. Everyday I log into my checking account I transfer money into my savings to make my checking account an even number. For example if my balance in checking is $104.03 - I transfer $4.03 into my savings account (making my checking account an even $100). I think Bank of America has a program like this. And I never touch the savings account (unless true emergency).
And also what other people suggested - eat out less often, bring lunch to work, don't go grocery shopping when you're hungry, use coupons, do more things at home. Don't rent movies - you can borrow them from your local library. If you want to buy a new outfit - don't - go home and think about it - and if you really have to have it - go back and buy it (like if it's a really good deal). I usually never go back.
Cut out services you don't need. We got rid of our home phone and just use our cell phones. Get rid of cable. Refinance your car at a better rate. Shop around for cheaper car insurance. Don't use your credit card.|||What are some of the ways "I" save money:
First, I have a system for keeping track of where it is going. I use Quicken, but there are other programs that do the job.
Second, I have limits for how much I will spend in particular catagories each month. In its most rigorous form, this is called a budget.
Third, I don't go shopping as a form of recreation. I know - that's a very "guy" way of thinking. Yes, I do go Idea Shopping once in a while. No, I don't always know where the bargains are. But I'm not tempted to buy something I don't need just because it's on a terrific sale.
Fourth, I don't have expensive habits that bleed money - I don't drink lattes, I don't smoke, we cook at home regularly, we don't drink much alcohol, we rarely go to big-ticket shows, we buy used cars and drive them a long time, ...|||If you like going to the cinema. On Wednesday there is the Orange Wednesday offer. However that is for people with Orange sim cards. So, if you haven't got one,go to Orange.co.uk/freesimpack get a sim for free.Swap your normal sim card with the orange one and get a reduced price. After that put your personal one back in your phone. That's almost 50 less per month.
I buy food at the store and make my lunches. This saves a LOT of money. Cost per lunch is now about $2 per day instead of $6 or $8. That adds up.
Also eat in more often. Eating at restaurants are expensive...
Those are a few ideas.|||Cut back on impulse purchases.
Shop for food/groceries carefully.|||don't spend it.
stop going to restaurants so much.
stop going to movies, watch them at home.
stop driving so much.
shop for food at cheaper stores. price food items, you might be surprised how much more some stores charge for the very same item you can buy elsewhere|||1- Make sure you're getting the best deals on your insurance, cable, cell phone, and any other fixed expenses.
2-Go grocery shopping and try not to eat out|||My check is direct deposited so a set amount goes into my savings account every week 鈥?which is the simplest way to save.
I have Blockbuster Online, which costs less per month that seeing one movie in the theater + concessions, and I don鈥檛 have cable.
I pack my lunch for work every day, which costs about 20% of what the cheapest fast food meal would.
I don鈥檛 worry about having the latest and greatest cars, electronics, etc. I use stuff until it breaks or becomes obsolete; I鈥檝e had my car close to 10 years, and my cell phone for 4.|||Don't buy coffee at Starbucks or a gas station. For the price of two or three cups, you can buy a whole can at the supermarket that will last almost a month.
