I just made the cheer squad, and tuition, uniforms, choreograpy, etc. are all really expensive, thus the reason my parents said i couldn't do it anymore, which depresses me. I'm trying to think of ways i can contribute to saving my parents money, like cutting off my allowance for a year (saves $408) and getting rid of my texting (saves $180/yr). An estimate of how much cheer costs per year is about $2000. Any other ways I could contribute that might convince my parents to let me cheer? Answers needed as soon as possible. Thank you.|||Recycle? you could probably get 20 bucks for a bag or two of bottles if you bring it down to the recylce centers nearby. I really cant think of that much more but you definately are at good start. Also volunteer to help around the house mabye that will equal money in your parents mind or offer to get a job even if it just babysitting for extra cash to help out. Also talk to your coach you might be able to get a discount based on your family circumstances|||Congratulations on making the squad. I am sure your parents aren't trying to be mean or anything. $2000 is tough to come up with.
You can probably get a part time job at 13. You could also get a paper route or do odd jobs in the neighbourhood. Babysitting could be an option too.
If you are determined there must be a way.|||Paying for gasoline with cash is like paying a 5% ignorance surcharge. Suggest to your parents that they get a credit card that gives 5-10% back on gasoline purchases. Everytime they fill the car, use the credit card, but pay the card off in full each month so they don't have finance charges. Then have them give what they saved to you (100 gallons @ $3.50 x 5% = $17.50).|||How about a part time job?
All you need to make is $40 a week to pay for it.
