Save money!?

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to get married and feel we deserve a nice wedding, nothing extravagant, but nice. However it seems that our paychecks just go to bills so we can't save.Does anyone have creative tips on how to save money for it, and ideas to have a nice inexpensive wedding?|||Coupons...i saved $58.00 with coupons last week at the grocery store. You can print them off the internet, or from the newspaper; first Sunday of the month has the good ones. You can join a coupon train online and exchange ones you don't need for ones you do. For all the money you save, put it away.

Plus extravagant doesn't need to mean expensive. It's the low-key, private weddings that are the most beautiful and memorable!|||Here is the thing, what is not on paper does not happen. So the first thing you have to do is write it out. Create a budget, and remember you are the one making the money work for you not the other way around. First, set up a target $$ budget for your wedding $10K or $15K this will be enough for a nice intimate wedding then. Look at your finances, cut all entertainment meaning not eating out, not going to the movies, no more gifts, no more birthdays, no christmas nothing, no more shopping (all that clothes in your closet and shoes, wear it) we are on a budget. Next, you need to start paying off any consumer debt so you are able to save more faster. Then, start saving like crazy. When you do this you will maximize your dollar. Live on nothing, on rice and beans, so later you can live like no one else.

For an economic wedding, try to do as many things as you can on your own invitations, favors, cake. if you go online you can find wedding dresses designer knock off for less than $300 at kanacca.com. So most of your expense will be in the food and venue. Good Luck!|||Hi,

I got married a couple years ago, I'll give you some tips that we've talked about since then... I hope they help.

Find a friend/family member to do the food with you. You'll save a ton of cash there. Simple dinner's with only a couple varieties and some appetizers. A meat and vegetarian dish if you need it. Pasta, Salad, Chicken, Bread... For the "cake" we had delicious truffles made. They saved us a lot of money and were DELICIOUS! We had the "cutting of the truffle" rather than cake ceremony. That was a laugh. Have everyone you know bring chairs and tables for the guests, or have it done in a park with benches. Renting that stuff is spendy. Get biodegradable cups, plates and silverware and have a buffet. No cleanup, cheap, and environmentally sound. If you are going to have alcohol, Cegs are cheap and easy. Wine will set you back. Maybe just wine with dinner.

If you don't have wedding attire you like, you could sew a dress. My wife made hers for under $100. She was so beautiful in it... still is beautiful. You can also rent or borrow them. My buddy goes to Target and get's a suit there, then gets it fitted by a taylor. Costs about $150 total he says. They look great on him.

For music we had a friend play the piano, but an Ipod or Mp3 player of choice with your wedding music, then a dance mix for later is easy. We had a dance mix for later on an ipod. It was fun. You can rent really good speakers, or again, your friends love to help out, borrow theirs.

Make sure you spend you money on a good photographer and pretty flowers. Those are the most important things. They really make the wedding. A good photographer costs around $3k where we are. It's worth it. Get the negatives! We had a friend grow a TON of Zinnias for us.

We had the wedding in my mom's yard. It's small, but we were able to fit 100 people in there. Everyone loved it. Oh, rent or be near bathrooms. You don't want everyone using your bathroom, it gets ruined.

P.S. My Swedish mother in law says every wedding she's been too, where the cake has been shoved in the others face has ended in divorce.|||If you do online banking with direct deposit of your paycheck, set up a savings account and program your account to automatically deduct a set amount every payday and put it in a savings account. I'm not disciplined enough to transfer money from checking to savings on my own, so I just set this system up so that my savings account is like another bill to pay and have the bank system make the transfer automatically. I was able to save for about 18 months to make a nice downpayment on a car, which kept my monthly payment on the car lower. Then I've let the savings account build back up and will use some to pay for vacation this summer. This method could work for saving money for your wedding, too. Good luck with the savings and the marriage!|||Along with savings...you can make easy money online doing surveys, cash offers, and by referring people to the site! It's completely FREE to join and very simple to do.

Then in 10 years, have a big wedding. That way you know that if you can last 10 years with your spouse, its probably worth spending 10 grand or more. And you will probably be more able to afford it too.

Also, I agree with the other responses. Use COUPONS and coupon codes online. Also, use cash back sites online.|||You have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T. What kind of cutbacks can you make? For example: I drink bottled water. Now at $1 a bottle on something that covers over 65% of our planet is not smart. So I bought one of those water filters that screw into your faucet. I have bottles that I refil over and over again. I take them to work. Do you have a lot of small appliances around that house that are always on? I cut my electronic bill almost in half by unplugging all the clock radios and night lights. I also bought some of those florescent bulbs that look a lot like a regular bulb. These things use 80% less electricity than regular bulbs. You would be surprised, but these small things add up. I know I was spending money on the water filter and energy efficient bulbs but these things will pay for themselves in a month providing they pertain to you. If you really need the money right away start cutting back on your food costs. Romain noodles cost a dime and they taste just as good as campbells chicken noodle that costs $130 a can. Ok no chicken in romain noodles, but you are probably just missing about 4 tiny pieces of chicken. .Before you know it you will be ahead. And remember you have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T!
